We’re an award-winning British commercial and music video production company based in London.
Bob Lawrie and James Studholme set up shop in 1985 with the vision of creating an animation studio with an unconventional approach. Since then, we’ve evolved into a live-action production company with animation, design and film craft sewn into our DNA.
Over the years we’ve gained a reputation for discovering and fostering new creative talent, and proudly launched the careers of many acclaimed directors. We’ve worked hard to become one of the most respected names in commercial production, consistently producing innovative, beautifully crafted and intelligent work.
We actively avoid any semblance of a "house style", striving to nurture a diverse group of directors who work across the advertising spectrum.
We’ve seen a few awards in our day but there is no use dwelling in the past, as our best work is still ahead of us.
Luis Cerveró is a director renowned for his inventive and entertaining music videos and commercial work. Originally from Barcelona, Luis has spent more than a decade directing over thirty promos and working with numerous artists in the independent and underground music scene.
After spending time working in art-television programming, creating visuals for museums and directing commercials, in 2008 Luis co-founded CANADA, the directing collective and production company responsible for bringing Spanish creative talent to international attention and widespread acclaim.
CANADA’s distinctive style quickly became increasingly in demand from bands and brands worldwide, and Luis started directing music videos such as the much-admired summery promo ‘Ice Cream’ for Battles; the ‘Rollerball’-inspired sci-fi extravaganza ‘Newlands’ for Justice; and a dreamy, Freudian take on mainstream music videos ‘White Nights’ for the Danish singer Oh Land, which won Best International Pop Promo at the 2011 UK Music Video Awards.
Luis’s career in advertising includes the international campaign for Sony Xperia with McCann London, Adidas’s film for the London Olympics starring hip-hop star Wretch 32, and the relaunch of Internet retailers Very.co.uk, which saw Luis create a unique film combining motion control, bullet time and digital compositing techniques.
